Job Description
We are looking for an IT Field Service Technician who will provide on-site hardware and application support. This position requires candidates with excellent communication skills, high level of accuracy when reporting, delivering, installation, testing, updating and removal of equipment and confidence in maintaining hardware and software to assure peak technology performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting digital signage solutions, as well as resolving support tickets. This technician must have AV knowledge, be able to work independently, and have strong attention to detail. This individual must be able to work overnight hours on an occasional basis and will be servicing clients mainly located around the downtown Toronto area.
Primary Responsibilities Duties would include but not limited to:
• Troubleshoot a variety of technical and non-technical digital signage related client issues
• Document issues encountered and fixes completed during service calls
• Technical knowledge of hardware, Windows operating systems
• Working Technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
• Communicate effectively with clients as well as third party contractors
• Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentations
• Test and troubleshoot digital media solutions, on-site network set-up, IP & router configuration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Create service manuals for internal use
• Service locations within 2 hours of Toronto; occasionally further
• Familiar with computers/printers/wireless connectivity devices
• Able to work extended hours as required
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Job Requirements
• Must possess valid G driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
• Availability to work evenings and weekends for emergency service calls
• A+ certification is an asset
• CCNA certification is an asset
• Training with scissor lifts and boom lifts is an asset
• Working at Heights training is an asset
• A mandatory criminal background check prior to employment
