Job Specifics

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead a large-scale rollout of a new point-of-sale (POS) system. This is a critical role that will involve overseeing all aspects of the project, from strategy and planning to execution and delivery. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successful POS implementations across multiple locations, preferably on a national scale.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Project Strategy & Planning: 
    • Develop and manage the overall project plan, including timelines, budget, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Establish clear communication and reporting mechanisms.
  • Implementation & Delivery: 
    • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of the new POS system, including hardware and software components.
    • Coordinate site installations, ensuring timely and efficient deployment.
    • Manage relationships and performance of third-party vendors involved in the rollout.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve implementation challenges and roadblocks.
  • Stakeholder Management: 
    • Effectively communicate project updates, risks, and issues to key stakeholders across the organization.
    • Build strong relationships with internal teams (operations, IT, training, etc.) and external partners.
    • Ensure alignment and buy-in from all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enablement & Training: 
    • Collaborate with training teams to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for end-users on the new POS system.
    • Create supporting documentation and resources to facilitate a smooth transition for staff.
  • Quality Assurance & Optimization: 
    • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance checks to ensure the POS system meets all requirements and performs optimally.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization post-implementation.
 
Qualifications: 
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience.
  • 5+ years of retail industry experience.
  • 2+ years of proven experience in managing large-scale POS system implementations.
  • Deep understanding of POS hardware and software technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various locations across the country.
