Job Specifics

About the Role:
The Cloud Orchestrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our Azure infrastructure and platform, focusing on key services like Azure Virtual Desktop, Container Apps, OpenShift, and data services. You will work closely with other CoE members and development teams to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our cloud platform. A customer-centric approach, collaborative spirit, and an inquisitive proactive mindset are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support core Azure services, including: 
    • Azure Virtual Desktop
    • Azure Container Apps
    • Azure RedHat OpenShift
    • Azure DataBricks
    • Azure Data Factory, Self-hosted runtimes
    • Azure Cosmos DB
    • Azure App Service/Function/Web Apps, Logic Apps
    • Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hub, Redis Cache
    • Azure Front Door
    • Azure App Gateway, App Service Environments
  • Proactively monitor the Azure environment, identifying and resolving performance issues and potential disruptions.
  • Implement and maintain Azure security best practices.
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform (preferred) or Bicep.
  • Participate in Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline management using YAML.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot application issues and optimize performance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on Azure services.
  • Participate in incident management and problem resolution activities.
  • Adhere to ITIL service management principles.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the CoE.

Qualifications:
  • Solid foundation in Azure administration.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Azure services listed above.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Azure CLI.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (YAML).
  • Customer service focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Self-organizing and delivery-focused.
  • Security-minded with a good understanding of Azure security best practices.
  • ITIL service management understanding.
  • Ability to work in Support, Service, Maintenance, and on limited project assignments.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:
  • Experience with Terraform or Bicep for IaC.
  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform administration.
  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
